This is one foxy ring! Fox turquoise is one of my absolute favorite types of turquoise because of beautiful shades of blue that it comes in.
Look at that gorgeous piece of turquoise from @stephs_stones! The color is amazing- it ranges from a medium aqua to a medium turquoise and has very fine green matrix throughout. I wanted to show as much stone as possible so I used a gallery setting and added a lovely silver flower from @thesilvertwigshop.
My process: I wrapped the stone in a sterling silver gallery wire bezel for sizing and then attached the bezel to a piece of sterling silver sheet. Next the sterling flower was attached to the backplate before the sheet was then trimmed to size with a jeweler’s saw and hand filed smooth. The delicate 12 gauge half round sterling wire was then shaped into a ring shank and attached to the back of the backplate. The ring then took a spin in the tumbler for a final polish and hardening before I set the stone.

Here’s some info for my fellow rock geeks: Fox turquoise has been mined in Nevada, USA for well over 100 years. The claim was previously known as the Cortez. It is mostly light to medium blue with a darker green or blue matrix.

Please keep in mind that all pieces of jewelry from Tabby Cat are handmade using natural gemstones. Handmade means that there may be marks from the tools used in the process of making the setting. Natural gemstones are just that- natural. They may have pits in the surface or inclusions visible in transparent and translucent stones. These things just add to the charm of piece.
